'Ordinance for compulsory sharing of sports telecast'
New Delhi, Feb 1: The government today decided to issue anordinance for compulsory sharing of telecast of sports events byprivate channels with the official media, Doordarshan and All IndiaRadio.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by PrimeMinister Manmohan Singh, Information and Broadcasting Minister PriyaRanjan Dasmunsi told reporters here.
The government also decided to ban till the end of September 2007the export of skimmed milk powder (SMP) to bridge the wideningdemand-supply gap in milk as was reflected by the Re one a litreincrease in the milk sold by Mother Dairy.
Further, the Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) would be converted intoa viable unit with a joint venture partner through the infusion of Rs723 crore.
