One-year extension for commission on EBC: Cabinet

New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) The government today extended by one year the term of the Commission for Economically Backward Classes not covered under the existing Reservation Policy.

The commission would now submit its report to the government by January 31 next year, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters after a Cabinet meeting which took the decision.

The Commission is engaged in the onerous task of evolving a criteria for identification of economically backward classes.
