One arrested for involvment in visa racket
New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) The Delhi Police have arrested one person for his involvement in a racket pertaining to duping several persons of money and their passports in lure of false promise of getting them jobs abroad.
Amaltya Lal, who had been absconding for the last one year in a case relating to duping of several people in West Bengal on the promise of securing them jobs abroad, was yesterday arrested from Sector 2 in Rohini, police said.
Three persons had been arrested in 2005 in connection with the racket but Amaltya had abscoded.
The questioning of Amit Burman of West bengal, who was among those duped by the racketeers, led the police to Amaltya Lal, who also hails from the same village in West bengal as Amit.
12 passports were also recovered from Amaltya.
