Nitish demands all party meet to discuss SEZ issue

Jalanhdar, Feb 1 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar urged Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to hold all party meeting to discuss the contentious issue of creation of Special Economic zones(SEZs).

Talking to reporters here today, Mr Kumar said he and his government and party were not in favour of creation of SEZs as the same are unlikely to be beneficial for sustainable development and healty economy of the country and local people.

He said apprehensions of varied sorts had been expressed in different quarters over this issue and the issue should be discussed at all party meeting.

He said his government had not set up any SEZ in Bihar.
