Fatehgarh Sahib, Feb 1 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh said the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi would not be allowed to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of Punjab during his visit to the state.

Capt Singh said the state government could not stop anyone to campaign during the election but no one would be allowed to spoil the peaceful atmosphere of the state. The BJP wanted to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of Punjab, he alleged.

He said BJP Amritsar Lok Sabha candidate Navjot Singh Sidhu, whom he had termed 'murderer,' and BJP alliance partner SAD supremo son Sukhbir Badal wanted to create chaos in the state but the government was prepared to deal with such unscrupulous elements.

It may be mentioned here that SAD (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann had announced to hold statewide protest against Mr Modi, if he visits the state.

Earlier, while addressing a rally, he threw an open challenge to SAD president Parkash Singh Badal that Congress Party would create history this time by forming a government for another term.

He said the overall position of the party was strong as people had endorsed the people-friendly and pro-development policies and programmes of the government.

He said on the contrary, SAD-BJP alliance had no political agenda for the election campaign and were deliberately criticising the Congress to demoralise the party workers.
