New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) A local court today dismissed a complaint against Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her family members accusing them of ''spreading terror'' in the country and instead suggested mental treatment for the complainant.

Metropolitan Magistrate Seema Maini dismissed a complaint filed by one Sumant Goel against Ms Gandhi and her family and several others, including Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, on October 9 last year seeking directions to the SHO, Civil Lines, for registration of an FIR against them.

Goel, who claimed to have connections with the Gandhi family, had alleged that Sonia and her family members were spreading terror in the country.

Dismissing the complaint, the CMM said,''The complaint was vague and has been viciously made to undermine the dignity of offices held by personalities mentioned in the list. The complaint leads me to only inference that due to mental delusion the complainant has set belief in his mind of the existence of the fact that has no objective existence but is purely a figment of his imagination...'' The Court also noted that the complainant required treatment at the IHBAS mental institute at Shahdara.

The Magistrate also directed the SHO to produce him on February 8.

During the various hearings of the case, the complainant was given a chance to substantiate his charges which he failed to do.
