Maoists shot dead 3 forest employees

Bhubaneswar, Feb 01 (UNI) A few armed Maoists have shot dead one forester and two forest guards inside a forest in Kamakhyanagar division of Dhenkanal district yesterday.

Police today said the Maoists raided a forest camp yesterday and abducted the forester first and later the two forest guards at gun point.

The Maoists shot dead all the three forest employees and threw their bodies inside the forest.

Two more forest guards present in the camp fled from the scene into the deep forest out of panic, police said.

'' One of them, who had mangaed to escape, had reported the incident to us,'' a senior police official said. However, the other was still missing, he added.

The police have launched a combing operation to flush out the Maoists from the forest and the investigation was on.
