Chennai, Feb 1 (UNI) Madras High Court today directed city police to inquire into the complaint by the Vice Chairman of NEPC India Limited, accusing 19 persons of cheating and threatening him in connection with the sale of the company's Wind Energy Division (WED) to Southern Wind Farms Limited (SWFL) here.

In his order, Mr Justice K N Basha directed the Commissioner of Police (COP) to nominate an Inspector of Police to take the petitioner's complaint of December 14, 2006 on file and register it if the allegations constituted cognisable offence and file a final report expeditiously.

The Judge passed the order on a petition filed by Mr Rajkumar Khemka, Vice Chairman of NEPC India Limited, seeking a direction to police to register the complaint given by him against the 19 persons.

Neither the complaint nor the petition contained the specific role of each person.
