Machine banks to help road constructions contractors

Patna, Feb 01 (UNI) The Bihar government has decided to allot land on lease to the companies of road constructions machineries, which would provide the required machineries to small contractors on rental basis.

State Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav said here that steps had been taken to enable the small contractors to stay in competition with the big contractors to grab the contracts of road construction.

For want of the required machineries, several local contractors were losing the opportunity to get contracts for road construction, he added.

Land would be allotted to the companies offering the highest rates in different commissionaries of the state. The companies would be under obligation to keep the required machines in sufficient numbers.

The period of the lease would be initially for five years which could be extended further when required, he added.
