Karunanidhi shares dais with Amritanandamayee

Chennai, Jan 31 (UNI) Close on the heels of sharing a dais with godman Sri Satya Saibaba, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, a hardcore atheist, today shared dais with another spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayee at a public function at Nagapattinam.

The occasion was to hand over keys of the houses constructed for the tsunami victims by Mata at the function.

Mr Karunanidhi handed over the keys to 410 beneficiaries under the scheme.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Minister said the Centre had allotted Rs 4,897 crore for rehabilitation of tsunami victims.

He said by the end of this year 32,668 houses would be constructed.

Also, based on the assurances given by the NGOs, the government had called for tenders for construction of 3,000 houses at a cost of Rs 63 crore and the government had called for tenders.
