Jamaat-e-Islami Hind expresses concern at violence in Gorakhpur

New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) Jamaat-e-Islami Hind today expressed its concern over communal violence in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President Abdul Haq Ansari in a statement here appealed to the people of the affected area to maintain peace and shun violence.

While demanding effective steps from the state government to contain violence, he condemned Hindu Yuwa Wahni led by Mahant Atiyanath for allegedly fueling communal tension.
