Inculcate 'scientific magnanimity': Kalam

Hyderabad, Feb 01 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today stressed the need for ''scientific magnanimity'' to motivate scientists and nurture team spirit leading to new discoveries.

Dedicating the Laboratory for Conservation of Endangered Species (LaCONES) established by Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) here, Dr Kalam said ''it is my experience that a great mind and a great heart go together. I am sure such environment of scientific magnanimity will prevail in all our scientific research institutions.'' Stating that the scientific community was facing two problems, poaching of the animals by traders for economic exploitation and the problem of inbreeding leading to their possible extinction in future, the President said both these problems were of equal concern.
