HP Budget on March five

Shimla, Feb 1 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will present the state's annual budget estimates for 2007-08 in the state Assembly on March 5.

On March five, Mr Singh, who also holds the finance portfolio, would present the budget estimates, which would be passed on March 30, according to the Budget session schedule released by the Assembly here.

The session, which begins with the Governor address on February 22, would have 24 sittings in all with nine-day recess from March 20 to March 28 during which period the Demands for Grants of various government departments would be scrutinised by the respective Departmental Related Standing Committees.

Apart from passing Supplementary Budget for this fiscal (2006-07), the House would also deliberate on important legislative business during the session, it said.

The release said two days of the session have been earmarked for Private Members Business besides discussing the H P State Electricity Board.
