Hoax call creates panic in PGI

Chandigarh, Feb 1 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research here this morning following a hoax telephone call that a bomb has been planted in the institute premises this morning.

Police said the annonymous caller made the call to a doctor of Neurosurgery Department around 0825 hours, who inturn, informed the police.

Police carried out a through search of the institute with the help of sniffer dogs and bomb squads but found no bomb. It was a hoax call, police said.
