Haryana govt to honour women achievers

Chandigarh, Feb1: The Haryana government has decided to honour, on International Women's Day, those women who have made exceptional achievements in various fields of human endeavour and development in the state since it came into being in 1966.

An official spokesman said such women would be honoured, on March 8, who had earned a name for Haryana at national or international levels in the fields of education, sports, social services, science and technology, literature, art and culture, health and bravery.

He said women applicants might send their applications through Deputy Commissioner concerned with his recommendation to the Director of the Women and Child Department before February 15.
