Four-day 'Samadhi Mahotsav' begins in Nadiad

Nadiad, Feb 01 (UNI) The four-day 'Samadhi Mahotsav' began at the famous Santram Mandir here amidst tight security today.

Scores of people are expected to throng the temple for 'sakhar varsha' or 'sugar rain' where 40 Santram temple sevaks would be offering 2,000 kg of sugar lumps at devotees. It is believed that those consuming the sugar would have their wishes fulfilled.

Elaborate traffic arrangements have been made by Kheda district police for the occasion. Vehicular traffic on the Santram temple road would be stopped till the fair lasts.

As many as 120 Jawanas of Nadiad police and 300 jawans from outside the district have been posted for bandobast duty. Apart from this, 40 traffic constables, 40 lady police, 300 home guards, three PIs and 26 PSIs have been deployed to prevent any untoward incident.
