Fierce gun battles erupt in Gaza despite truce
GAZA, Feb 1 (Reuters) Gun battles erupted in the Gaza Strip today between Hamas gunmen and security forces loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and at least six people were wounded in the violence that tested a 3-day-old ceasefire.
Local residents said it was the fiercest fighting in the territory since the truce went into effect early on Tuesday.
