Curfew continues in Bioara
Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Feb 1 (UNI) Curfew continued in the violence-hit Bioara town of Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district even as no fresh incident of violence was reported from the town, an official spokesman said today.
However, 40 people had been arrested in connection with the violent incidents, which sparked off after few posters relating to a religious congregation were reportedly torn away, District Collector G P Tiwari said.
No untoward incident had been reported since imposition of curfew after teargas and firing in the air failed to quell violence in which two vehicles were torched and about a dozen shops ransacked.
''The situation was under control and police patrolling continued,'' Mr Tiwari said.
