Centre releases SGSY funds to Bengal

Kolkata, Feb 01 (UNI) The Centre today released Rs 4,60,61,000 as the second instalment of the Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) to four District Rural Development Agencies in West Bengal.

Official sources here said of the total amount,the maximum Rs 211.38 lakhs have been released for Burdwan district, followed by Rs 84.50 lakhs to Hooghly, Rs 95.23 lakhs to South Dinajpur District and Rs 69.50 lakhs to West Midnapore district.

As the funding pattern is divided between the Centre and the State at the rate of 75 per cent and 25 per cent,the State Government was expected to release its share within one month of the date of the Central assistance,the sources added.
