President arrives on a short visit

Hyderabad, Jan 31 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam arrived here tonight on a short visit to Andhra Pradesh.

Governor Rameshwar Thakur, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, Ministers and officials received him at the airport.

Dr Kalam went to Raj Bhavan for over-night stay.

The President would inaugurate the Teleradiology Network, set up by the Kakarla Subba Rao Radiological and Imaging Educational Sciences Trust, at 0830 hrs tomorrow and proceed to the Osmania University to participate in its 77th annual convocation.

Later, at Manthralayam, Dr Kalam would interact with the students of Sri Guru Sarvabhema Sanskrit Vidyapeet before leaving for Kurnool at 1400 hrs to participate in the Kurnool Medical College Golden Jubilee celebrations.

At Attapur in Ranga Reddy district, he is scheduled to inaugurate the Laboratory for Conservation of Endangered Species and proceed to the Hyderabad International Convention Centre to attend the 65th annual meeting of the All India Opthalmological Society, in the evening.

He would leave for New Delhi at 2130 hrs.
