Koirala addresses nation; uges Terai people for dialogue
Kathmandu, Jan 31 (UNI) Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala in his address to the nation has asked the agitating Terai people to stop the agitation and come for talks with the government in order to resolve the unrest in the Terai region.
Mr Koirala said there was no alternative for talks to solve any type of problem and urged Madheshi people to come for talks and appealed to the countrymen to exercise restraint and contribute towards creating a new Nepal.
''The federal structure of the nation will be created during the formation of new constitution after the election to the constituent assembly,'' Mr Koirala said, adding that the number of constituencies will be increased in accordance with the existing population in each district. The present 205 constituencies will remain unchanged.
He said the Home Minister has been directed to solve the current problem.
More than half a dozen people have been killed in Terai of Nepal due to the violence since the second week of January.
