Mumbai, Jan 31 (UNI) The row between Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil and Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) President Gurudas Kamat continued even as the corporation elections are scheduled for tomorrow.

Mr Kamat told reporters here today after the Malegaon blast, the Congress had demanded a CBI probe into the incident and demanded why the implentation has been delayed.

It was not Congress but RPI leaders Ramdas Athavale and Jogendra Kawade, who had demanded the resignation of Mr Patil on the Khairlanji issue, he said.

Yesterday, Mr Patil refused to reveal the nature of the ''illegal favour'' sought by Mr Kamat as alleged by him earlier even as the latter threatened legal action for making baseless allegations.

Mr Kamat said the Congress-NCP government was functioning well in the State and there was no problem with any other minister from NCP in the State Cabinet.

While reacting to Kamat's allegation of delay in recommending the CBI probe, Mr Patil said NCP MLC Nawab Malik had demanded the CBI probe on December 14 and the decision on this was taken on December 21.

Mr Patil alleged since Congress was losing its vote bank, such allegations were being made.
