Geelani invited to 'Save Kashmir Rally' in Pak

Srinagar, Jan 31: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (Daughters of Faith) chairperson Asiya Andrabi has been invited to participate in the 'Save Kashmir Rally' in Pakistan on February 5.

Firebrand separatist leader and breakaway Hurriyat conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has been invited to lead the rally being organised by the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA).

If permitted, Mr Geelani would travel to Pakistan for the first time. It would come a few days after the visit of a three-member moderate Hurriyat delegation, led by chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, to Islamabad for talks with President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and others on the Kashmir issue.

According to sources, Ms Andrabi has been invited by the Jama'at-e-Islami of Pakistan to take part in the proposed rally.
