State media awards announced
Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 30 (UNI) Mangalam daily Chief Reporter Sajith Parameswaran has won the Kerala Media Award in General Reporting.
Announcing the Media Awards 2006, instituted by the state government for the journalists, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said the reports on KSTP Road works published in September, October, November and December led to the daily selecting Mr Parameswarn for the award.
Deepika reporter M Jayachandran has won the award in development reporting, while the news photography and cartoon awards went to Mr Jayadeep of Rashtradeepika and Gopikrishnan of Mathrubhoomi respectively, he said.
The awards in the TV news story and TV camera category went to Mr Priji Joseph of Manorama News and Asianet respectively.
Mr P J Mathew, P Aravindakshan and K G Parameswaran Nair (general reporting), V P Rmachandran, A P Viswanathan and Leela Menon (development reporting), T Venugopalan, A Sahadevan, Feroz Babu (News Photography), Ravi Sankar, Unni and Raju Nair (Cartoon) and John Sankaramangalam, Babu Joseph and Biju Chandran (TV) are the judging committee members.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000, a citation and a plaque, he added.
