Child molester convicted for 152 years
San Francisco, Jan 30: A California sex offender who had extensively detailed sex acts with hundreds of children in his notebooks was sentenced to 152 years in prison for molesting two boys.
Dean Arthur Schwartzmiller was convicted in September on 11 counts of child molestation and one count of child pornography possession involving the San Jose, California, 12-year-olds.
The sentence was handed down in Santa Clara County Superior Court, said Steve Fein, a county deputy district attorney.
After a report by a suspicious parent, San Jose police arrested Schwartzmiller in 2005 at a home he shared with another convicted child molester in the Silicon Valley city south of San Francisco.
Police found binders filled with pornographic photographs of children and more than 1,000 pages of handwritten and coded records made by Schwartzmiller, 65. The notebooks detailed sex acts with children over 40 years as he moved from state to state and concealed his identity as a convicted molester.
''Based on his logs and manuscripts, we figure a minimum of 250 (victims),'' said Fein.
Schwartzmiller's records were used as evidence in the case of the San Jose boys.
