K'taka: Prohibitory orders in Chennagiri after clash

Davanagere, Jan 30: Prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC wereimposed last night in Chennagiri, 60 Km from here, after a clashbetween two communities, in which two people were injured.

Police said a minor altercation turned into a clash, in whichmembers from the two communities pelted stones at each other. Policefired shots in the air to quell the mob.

Four platoons of Karnataka reserve police and aditional force fromDavanagere was rushed to reinforce security in the affected area.

The administration has convened a peace meeting today to restore peace.
