Khurana's presence to make BJS stronger: Patel

Jabalpur, Jan 30: Bharatiya Jan Shakti General Secretary PrahladPatel today said the party would emerge stronger with former Delhichief minister Madanlal Khurana as its acting president.

''With Mr Khurana as its acting president, the party will derivespecial advantage in New Delhi and Punjab where he is quite popular.

His experience and guidance will be immensely beneficial in theupcoming elections in Punjab, Uttarakhand and the polls for theMunicipal Corporation of Delhi,'' Mr Patel told UNI here.

He said the BJS was fielding candidates in 60 out of 70 assemblyseats in Uttarakhand, while it will contest from 33 seats in Punjab.

The party will fight from more than 150 wards in the MCD polls.

Mr Patel claimed that the party would make substantial gains inforthcoming polls, as it had become stronger in Uttarakhand and NewDelhi.

The BJS leader said a meeting of party office bearers would beheld in Hardwar on February 5 to discuss preparations for Punjab andUttarakhand assembly elections.

BJS President Uma Bharti will also attend the meeting.

He added that party workers from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan andUttar Pradesh will be given the responsibility for poll campaigning inPunjab and Uttarakhand.
