Congress and development synonymous: CM

Hamirpur, Jan 30 (UNI) Congress and development were synonymous and the main endeavour of the party was equal and balanced development of the state, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said while addressing a public meeting at Nadaun town of the district.

On the occasion, the chief minister announced construction of a new bus stand for Nadaun costing about one crore rupees and opening of a sub-tehsil at Galore in the Nadaun revenue sub-division.

Earlier, the chief minister laid the foundation stone of second phase of Hamir Hotel complex here. A sum of fifty lakh rupees would be spent for adding eight double bedrooms in the present complex.

He also laid the foundation stone of sewerage scheme at Nadaun and a rest house at Sera village, the native village of Late Prof.

Narain Chand Prasher, the former Himachal Education Minister.

Commenting upon the BJP campaign to show black flags to him in various parts of the district, he said it exposed ''their craze to grab the power but such gimmicks would not succeed''.
