ULFA resumes Bihari killings in Asom
Guwahati, Jan 29 (UNI) The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) today gunned down two Bihari labourers at Kundil Nagar near Sadiya, the easternmost tip of the state.
Yesterday, three people-- two Hindi-speaking traders and an Asom police battalion constable -- were critically injured when their vehicle came under heavy fire from ULFA militants near Kakopathar area in Tinsukia district of Asom.
After a brief lull, ULFA had shifted its gear and came back attacking the Biharis at regular intervals with complete impunity.
Official sources confirmed that Shiva Prasad and Sambhu Prasad had been killed in the latest attack by the outfit at Kundil nagar near Sadiya.
The incident came at a time when the whole of Tinsukia district was under night curfew and two divisions of the Army were patrolling the entire district.
Meanwhile, ULFA today received a major jolt when the Army shot dead one of their leaders Moni Gogoi near Joypur inside Arunachal Pradesh.
According to an official report, a five-member team of ULFA was coming from Arunachal Pradesh when a patrol party, belonging to the 45 field regiment, laid an ambush.
