Two Army jawans among 3 securitymen killed at Doda

Jammu, Jan 29 (UNI) Two Army personnel and an STF jawan were killed in an enounter with militants in Padder area, about 28 km east of Kisthwar, in Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources today said.

Acting on a tip-off, 63 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Task Force of police launched a cordon and search operation in Padder last night.

During the operation, the troops came under heavy fire from militants positioned at higher reaches near Kidru Nullah. ''Two army jawans died on the spot while three security personnel, including two STF men, got injured,'' the sources said.

One of the STF jawans succumbed to his injuries later on.

More reports are awaited as the operation was on till the last reports came in.
