Tunnel collapse in Jammu claims three lives, injures 11

Jammu, Jan 29 (UNI) At least three workers were killed and 11 others injured today when a tunnel of 390 MW Dul-Hasti power project collapsed in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The tunnel of Dulhasti project at Dool, about 15 km away from Kishwar city, collapsed at 0030 hrs, claiming three lives and injuring 11 others, the sources said, adding five persons are still under the debris.

Tunnel 402 collapsed while work was going on, the sources said. Three seriously injured were referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu where one of them succumbed to his injuries.

Senior police officials rushed to the site to supervise rescue operations which continued till reports last came in. The deceased were identified as Shahid Lone, Om Prakash and Ashi, workers of the company.
