Nagaland: Temsula Ao receives Padma Shri

Kohima, Jan 29: Prof Temsula Ao, Dean of School of Humanities and Education, North East Hill University (NEHU) at Shillong will be given the Padma Shri Award for Literature and Education.

Prof Temsula has to her credit of the publications of seven books and three anthology of poems.

She studied in the University of Minnesota in USA, from 1985 to 1986 and served the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) as Director from 1992 till 1997 on deputation from NEHU.

She had been teaching in the Department of English, NEHU, since 1975, official sources said.

Prof Temsula is the first Naga women to have become a professor, sources said.
