Swift diesel launched in AP city
Vijayawada, Jan 29 (UNI) Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL), India's largest car manufacturer, today launched two diesel variants of its premium hatchback Swift.
The 'Swift' was launched by State Bank of India (SBI) Deputy General Manager K S Subrahmanyam here.
Later, addressing the press, Mithra Agencies CEO C Srinivas said the Swift LDI will have an introductory price of Rs 4.71 lakh while the VDI will cost Rs 4.99 lakh.
With this launch, there will be a change in the current market shares of different segments of diesel cars, he said.
To a question, he said the Swift diesel cannot be converted to run on CNG unlike the petrol model.
The car also featured 5-injection technology making the engine 'silent,' minimising vibration and reducing emission substantially compared to conventional 3-injection enabled diesel cars.
