Swift diesel launched in Andhra Pradesh city
Vijayawada, Jan 29: Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL), India's largestcar manufacturer, today launched two diesel variants of its premiumhatchback Swift.
The 'Swift' was launched by State Bank of India (SBI) Deputy General Manager K S Subrahmanyam here.
Later, addressing the press, Mithra Agencies CEO C Srinivas saidthe Swift LDI will have an introductory price of Rs 4.71 lakh while theVDI will cost Rs 4.99 lakh.
With this launch, there will be a change in the current market shares of different segments of diesel cars, he said.
To a question, he said the Swift diesel cannot be converted to run on CNG unlike the petrol model.
The car also featured 5-injection technology making the engine'silent,' minimising vibration and reducing emission substantiallycompared to conventional 3-injection enabled diesel cars.
