SP opposes delimitation proposals

Bhopal, Jan 29 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Samajwadi Party unit has expressed dissent over demarcations of assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies in the state by the Delimitation Commission.

SP National General Secretary and legislator Sunilam told reporters here today that the delimitation proposals were not in consonance with the principles and rules of the Delimitation Commission.

He alleged that it was clear from the proposals of the Delimitation Commission that it was working under the pressure of some Congress leaders so that some segments could be reserved and unreserved.

The SP leader said the party would register its opposition to the proposals on January 31 in New Delhi and submit an alternate delimitation proposal.
