Soren authorised to run JMM's show from jail

Deoghar, Jharkhand, Jan 29 (UNI) Ending all speculations over appointing an acting president of beleaguered Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the party today resolved that its jailed president Sibu Soren would continue to run the show from prison.

Rumours had been doing the round in the past few weeks that Soren's wife Rupi Soren would be asked to lead the party as her husband was serving life imprisonment in connection with murder of his private secretary Shashinath Jha.

However, more than 2500 JMM supporters at the conclusion of three-day eighth party conclave held here, strongly rallied behind 'Guruji', as Soren is fondly called, and reposed faith in him.

Besides, among 13 resolutions, the existing Central Commitee and Executive would stand unaltered.

Soren's command in the JMM became evident, when the party after three days, could not come at a decison on finding a second man to hold the reign and finally resolved that they ''take Guruji as their top leader despite his absence at the conclave''.

Soren even was authorised to nominate member of the party's major decision taking bodies as per his choice.

Among other resolutions, the party pledged to fight for 'greater Jharjand' comprising seven more districts from West Bengal, Orissa and Bihar.
