Shilpa Shetty's in hailed by Bollywood

Mumbai, Jan 29 (UNI) As the nation rejoices the win of Shilpa Shetty in the British Channel 4's reality TV show 'Celebrity Big Brother', Bollywood personalities too hailed the spectacular victory of the actress.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt said ''Big Brother is not the mother of all events, it is just a game show like any other. Just as when one among us wins it brings a smile on our faces. in the same manner, I am happy for Shilpa. It will add to the ''clout'' and it speaks well for the ''Asian Diaspora.'' ''I know that elections there are going to happen so the Asian vote will count there as well. I congratulate her on her victory. How she converts this to her advantage is up to her'', he said.

Film-maker Tanuja Chandra said ''It is the kind of joy one feels when one is associated with a victory. 'Big Brother' was high on drama. I don't want to make a big deal about it but racism does exist''.

Kunal Kohli, maker of blockbuster films like 'Fanaa', 'Hum Tum' said ''It is very good and I am happy for her. But it is just a TV show. It has opened a world of opportunities for her. I am happy that someone from India has won. But don't take the victory away from her.

Despite the racial slurs she did not call home or call Jade Goody a 'racist'.

''She stood up with her dignity intact and that speaks for her.'' Item Girl Rakhi Sawant, who was a participant in 'Big Boss', said ''I am very happy and proud that a girl from India has won the accolades. In the same manner as Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen made India proud, Shilpa has made us proud too.'' Bollywood actor Milind Gunaji said ''It is great that somebody from India has won.'' Bollywood playback singer Kumar Sanu said ''It is a very big deal that someone from India has won. I am proud of her that she has made our country proud.'' Filmmaker Romesh Sharma said '' It is very good news. As far as her career is concerned, Shilpa is a talented lady and things will definitely look up for her.'' Music composer Shravan of the Nadeem-Shravan duo said '' She has done us proud.'' UNI
