SC/ST orgn demands action against police for firing on innocent
Jaipur, Jan 29 (UNI) All India Conferderation of SC/ST Organisations today demanded action against the police officials allegedly responsible for firing on a schoolboy and injuring him in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan on January 25.
Addressing a press conference in the presence of the parents of 16-year-old Puranmal Meena, the organisation's state president Om Prakash Meena also demanded compensation for the family.
He said a police team, led by SHO Guda, Bachu Singh entered the house in the wee hours in search of the victim's elder brother Ashok, wanted in a theft case.
Though Ashok lived in another house, the police fired indiscriminately in the victim's house, injuring Puranmal. Police then entered Ashok's house and took him into custody.
Puranmal's father alleged that the distrcit police officials have been pressurising him to withdraw the case against the errant police officials.
Meanwhile, hospital sources said Pooranmal is now out of danger.
