SAD expels all rebel candidates
Chandigarh, Jan 29 (UNI) Taking a Dim view of the anti-party activities of rebel leaders, the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) today expelled all those who are contesting against the official candidates.
SAD (B) President and Former Chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal today said that discipline will be maintained at all costs and no one will be allowed to go against the party decisions.
The SAD (B) supremo also warned other party workers supporting these rebels to stop their anti-party stance or face party action, SAD Secretary Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said in a statement here.
The dissident leaders who have been expelled from the party include independent candidate from Payal Jagjivan Pal Singh Gill, Giani Niranajan Singh Bhutal contesting form Lehra Gaga, Bhai Har Nirpal Singh Kuku contesting from Muktsar, Iqbal Singh Jhoonda Advocate contesting from Dhuri and Anmol Singh Vaid contesting from Mahilpur assembly constituency.
Mr Badal also announced that committees are being formed in all the districts to see that all party workers support the party candidates. He said that if any party leader was found guilty of opposing the party candidate, he would be dealt with sternly, Mr Cheema said.
