Puducherry, Jan 29 (UNI) A five-member Russian team, which was on a mission - round the world in a specially designed boat - was stranded near the Puducherry coast last evening and was taken to the shore by the Puducherry fishermen.
According to official sources, a fiv-member team headed by Coolie Anatoley, a software engineer, started the journey on December 12 and passing through Siberia, Arabia and Oman the boat reached the Indian coast. When it reached Kanyakumari on January 18 the boat got damaged.
After setting the boat right, they continued the voyage and reached Puducherry coast late last night where trouble erupted again.
The Puducherry fishermen towed the boat up to the Chunnambaar port here where the repair work for the boat was being taken up, so that they could continue their sail shortly, the sources added.
