PYRAMID ties up with Kalayana Malai

Chennai, Jan 29 (UNI) Pyramid Saimira Theatre Ltd (PYRAMID) has entered into a tie up with K M Matrimony Pvt Ltd, which is popularly known as 'Kalayana Malai', for setting up marriage bureaus at all its theatres across the country.

A company release here today said complete marriage services would be offered on turnkey basis in these locations on a revenue share model with PYRAMID. PYRAMID would also be offered an equity stake in K M Matrimony Pvt Ltd, it added.

"Kalayana Malai" would also offer online marriage bureau in PYRAMID theatres, wherein the prospective brides' and grooms' video introduction, detailed registration and marriage arrangements would be done through exhaustive search.

It would also provide an option for video online interaction between selected grooms and brides to choose their suitors.

The first marriage bureau was expected to be operational by February 2007 and more than 100 marriage bureaus would be added in the financial year 2007-08 in Pyramid's theatres, across the country, the release added.

Commenting on this tie-up, Managing Director PYRAMIDS P S Swaminathan said, "Kalayanamalai, which has conducted over 40,000 marriages from 1999 onwards, is the only matrimonial agency present in multiple delivery channels such as internet, print media, TV channels and chat shows. This tie up would help us provide value added services to millions of our theatre customers across the country and would also increase brand loyalty towards the brand PYRAMID".

"The match-making and marriage industry is estimated to be around Rs 50,000 to Rs 80,000 crore and growing at a compounded rate of 25 per cent every year", he said, adding more than one crore marriages were being performed across India and the concept of computerized, professional match-making and marriage services were utilised tremendously.

"We are seeing this business as a potential revenue earner and it contributes to a great extent to our bottom line", he added.
