Police resorts to lathicharge on BJP activists

Hyderabad, Jan 29 (UNI) Police resorted to lathicharge on the activists of the city BJP unit when they tried to lay seige to the state Welfare office to protest against the State Government's indifferent attitute to solve the problems of the poor in the city.

Police said the BJP activists along with the party leaders in the city staged dharna in front of the state welfare office demanding the Government to allot sufficient funds for the welfare of poor and more funds for BC scholorships.

The BJP activists were obstructed when they tried to enter into the office. Unable to control the irated activists police, lathicharged the activists to disperse them. Several of them were also arrested, police added.
