Nayyar had lived in Shivpuri

Shivpuri, MP, Jan 29 (UNI) Film music director Onkar Prasad Nayyar, who passed away yesterday, lived here for about five years before carving a niche for himself in Bollywood.

Litterateur and reviewer Parshuram Birhi and artist Arun told UNI here that Nayyar resided at the Vashisht Colony, between 1945 and 1950, with his mother. During that period, he staged music shows along with maestros. After attaining dizzying heights, Nayyar did not forget Shivpuri. Besides visits, he even took some friends to Mumbai.

A pall of gloom descended over this district headquarters after news of Nayyar's demise.
