MTNL posts 90.52% net profit in Q3FY07

New Delhi, Jan 29 (UNI) MTNL today recorded 90.52 per cent hike in net profit to Rs 224.01 crore during the third quarter of the current fiscal, as compared to Rs 117.58 crore over the same period last year.

''This performance is very encouraging and is a result of our relentless efforts that have gone in over the past two years,'' MTNL CMD R S P Sinha said.

The country's leading telecom service provider has generated income of Rs 1260.25 crore from services during the Q3FY07, against Rs 1266.93 crore during the corresponding period last fiscal.

As compared to Q3FY06, there is an increase of 31.22 per cent in income from mobile services from Rs 152.90 crore to Rs 200.63 crore that is by Rs 477.31 million.
