New Delhi, Jan 29: Expelled BJP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister, Madanlal Khurana, today joined Uma Bharti's Bhartiya Jan Shakti (BJS) as its acting President.

''I would continue to lead the rest of my life with the ideals of the Sangh and the BJP, '' he said while announcing his decision in the presence of Ms Bharti.

He said his priority as the acting president will be the coming assembly polls.

''I am campaigning in Punjab for BJS candidates and the schedule will commence from tomorrow,'' he added.

Ms Bharti said her party will contest the elections in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, and the polls for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Asked about reports in a section of the media that Ms Bharti and he were keen on re-joining the BJP, both the leaders termed the reports "distorted".
