JD-S National Executive lauds Kumaraswamy govt

Bangalore, Jan 29: The National Executive of the Janata Dal (Secular) today placed on record the practical approach adopted by the H D Kumaraswamy led coalition government in Karnataka and observed that Karnataka had been put on fast lane of development by the government.

In a resolution, adopted unanimously, it said the state was emerging as a land of opportunities for the rest of the country and a model state for other states in the country to emulate. The government had successfully managed two communally surcharged incidents having the potential to rupture the communal fabric through its swift, stern and resolute action, it noted.

While stressing that it was not against creation of any Special Economic Zones, the meeting opined that it should not be at the cost of poor farmers or their productive agricultural land. Land sharks should not be allowed to get away under t he garb of infrastructure buildings, it cautioned.

The resolution said the Karnataka government had also successfully demonstrated to the people that how the previous regimes turned the state into a haven of illegal mining by diverting from public sector in a single day thousands of hectares of areas for mining by private people which only led to a few people including some powerful politicians to plunder the state's mineral wealth for personal enrichment. The meeting appreciated the state government's efforts in this regard to cleanse the system and to put to use the state's resources for development and not to fill the coffers of a chosen few.
