IDC's land loot in Goa: Parrikar

Panaji, Jan 29 (UNI) Former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar strongly opposed the alleged irrational selling of land by Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) to private parties on wholesale rate in the state.

Speaking to reporters here today Mr Parrikar demanded that the selling of land, which came under SEZ and already sold to private parties for industrial purpose, should be officially stopped. ''The state government has become an agent in the scam,''he alleged.

Mr Parrikar also announced the names of four companies to whom IDC sold the land with a nominal rate.

The companies to which the lands have been sold are -- Meditab SP Pvt Ltd for making Pharma Park Keri in South Goa on 12,32,000 square meters land with the date of granting April 20, 2006 at the rate of Rs 80 per square metre.

K Raheja Corp Pvt Ltd has been sold land for creating Multiproduct Industries and Service park at Verna on 7,91,732 square metres with date of granting April 20, 2006 at the rate of Rs 600 per square metre. Paradigam Logistic and Dist Pvt Ltd has been sold land for IT/ITES at Verna on 2,64,419 square metres with date of granting April 20, 2006 at the rate of Rs 600 per square metre.

Peninsula Pharma R C Pvt Ltd has been sold land for setting up a RUD Centre Biotech Park at Sancoale on 2,03,650 square metres of land with date of granting April 5, 2006 at the rate of Rs 270 per square metres.
