Haryana: Panel to monitor admission in Tech institutes

Chandigarh, Jan 29 (UNI) The Haryana government today decided to constitute a Haryana State Counselling Society in its Department of Technical Education for implementation of transparent and uniform policies for admission.

A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of the State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today.

The Society, a single window agency, would also handle other related issues like preparing perspective plan, reservation, enhanced participation of women, rural people and socially backward sections in technical education and for proper analysis of data. The Society would be headed by Commissioner and Secretary, Technical Education and have members including nominees of Kurukshetra University, Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak and Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa and Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal.

Two representatives of self financed institutions to be nominated by the Director, Technical Education, Haryana would also be its members. Director, Technical Education would be the member secretary.

The society would be self sustaining and meet its expenses through counselling fee or examination fee. It would conduct entrance test, if any, for making admission or counselling and also conduct counselling for various admissions.

It would also carry out detailed statistical analysis of the applicants and admitted students and arrange counselling or orientation programmes to attract students from rural or techno-economicallly under developed societies for admissions in emerging areas of technology in well performing institutions for diploma or under graduate or post graduate level programmes.
