Haryana cabinet approves Employment Guarantee Scheme
Chandigarh, Jan 29 (UNI) The Haryana Cabinet today approved the Haryana Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 for placing it before the State Lagislative Assembly.
The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, also decided to constitute a Haryana Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme Council for the regular monitoring and review of the scheme at state level.
It was also decided to establish a fund to be called the State Employment Guarantee Fund for smooth functioning of the scheme, an official spokesman said.
At present the scheme had been implemented in two districts of Mahendergarh and Sirsa in Haryana and the remaining districts of the state would be covered in a phased manner.
The scheme would be handled by the Gram Panchayats at village level and all technical aspects including technical sanction, execution and technical supervision of works would be the responsibility of the engineering wing of the department, he said.
