Chandigarh, Jan 29 (UNI) Additional District and Session Judge Ravi Kumar today adjourned the hearing in the high-profile rape case involving Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) MLA from Dhuri, Gaganjit Singh Barnala to March three.

The ADSJ also directed the prosecution to produce the remaining witnesses in the next hearing.

In the last hearing, the alleged rape victim retracted from her statements made before the police.

On August 12, the Chandigarh Police had arrested Gaganjit Singh, son of Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala on the statement made by the maid, who was admitted in a General Hospital here.

Denying that she was raped by the MLA, the victim during the proceedings in the court stated that she had suffered an abdominal injury after falling from her bicycle and thereafter she started bleeding.

Of the total seven prosecution witnesses, the statements of five witnesses were recorded earlier.
